Rental Cancellation Policy

Our approach

Playa Cruisers is a small operation with limited vehicles. When you reserve a cruiser, that inventory is held for you and we often turn away other guests. Last-minute cancellations and no-shows hurt us in the same way they hurt boutique hotels and small rental operators: we don’t have the scale of large chains, so every reservation really matters.

Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to you while protecting the business. It is in line with practices used by boutique hotels, small vehicle rental companies, and peer-to-peer rental platforms. We ask for your understanding and respect when plans change.

Payment at reservation

Your full trip total is charged at the time of reservation. This secures your booking and helps us avoid no-shows and last-minute cancellations. Refunds, when applicable under the policy below, will be issued to the original payment method and may take 5–10 business days to appear, depending on your bank or card issuer.

Cancellation terms

All times are relative to your scheduled pickup date and time (e.g. 10:00 AM PT at Redondo Beach).

  • Within 24 hours of booking: You may cancel for any reason and receive a full refund. This gives you a short window to change your mind after reserving.
  • 72+ hours before pickup: Cancel and receive a full refund minus a $25 cancellation fee. This covers admin and helps us re-list the dates.
  • 72 hours – 24 hours before pickup: If you cancel in this window, 50% of your trip total is non-refundable. We will refund the remaining 50%.
  • Within 24 hours of pickup or no-show: No refund. The full trip total is non-refundable. We ask that you cancel as soon as you know you cannot make it so we have a chance to rebook.
